Downham Market Art Trail Winner 2016

Congratulations to Sue Bates, Public Choice winner of the 2016 Downham Market Art Trail!

Local artist, Sue Bates, was taken by surprise on Monday when Downham Market Arts announced that she had won the People’s Choice Prize for their first ever art trail with her painting of Downham Market Railway Station’s iconic signal box.

Sue was at a watercolour class, being run by Sheila O’Brien – shown here presenting the prize to Sue at Framin’ Arts, when the result was announced.

Framin’ Art were kind enough to support the Art Trail by donating the People’s prize of a gift voucher. The trail was also featured as part of this year’s Ouse Fest (Coordinated by the Ouse Washes Landscape Partnership).
Sue said she was delighted to have won, and added that someone had already approached her to buy all three of her entries into the Art Trail.

Downham Market Arts is planning to build on this year’s success with another  art trail in 2017.

The 2016 Downham Market Arts Trail has now ended!

Our thanks to all the artists who  submitted work for the trail and to our fantastic, independent shops and businesses who agreed to display the pieces throughout the month of July.  Thanks too for financial support from the Norfolk Community Foundation Fund.

If you were one of the participating artists and have work to collect, please come to THE SWAN CENTRE (youth centre) in Paradise Road, Downham Market
between 9 am and 8 pm on TUESDAY 9TH AUGUST
